Inauguration of SHG federation at Manikbond
Seva Kendra Manikbond, the zonal office of FAsCE India, organised International Women’s Day celebration and formally launched a federation
of Self Help Groups, under the banner Longai Valley Mahila Vikash Mancha, first in the patherkhandi sub-division, on March 25, at the local office.
Over 300 women, members of various SHGs under FAsCE – Seva Kendra, attended the program.
Fr Abraham Puthenpurackal, MSFS, the director of Seva Kendra Manikbond, highlighted the importance and purpose of the day and welcomed
the Chief Guest Mr Abdul Jalil, the extension officer, block development office, Lowairpoa, the Guest of honour Mr Faijur Rahman,
the Gram Sevak, members of SHGs and other participants.
Various cultural programmes by different communities like – Ranglong, Chorei, Halam, Mog, Bengali and Manipuri added grandeur to the day.
The Chief Guest, in his address, appreciated the SHG members for playing an active role towards the formation of a federation and
assured all possible helps from his side as extension officer for the functioning of federation and various groups.
